Certification Program Requirements
for Professional Psychics, Mediums, and Healers

NOTE:  All of the following coursework must be taught by Anne Reith, Ph.D. or IMPART-approved faculty.

Minimum Entrance Requirement

 In order to be eligible to apply to one of IMPART’s Certification Programs for Professional Healers, Psychics, and/or Mediums, the student must complete at least 1 of the following Minimum Entrance Requirements:

• Attend 4 “Psychic Development, Mediumship & Channeling” classes
• Attend 1 weekend workshop (e.g., Psychic Development 101, Reiki, Karuna Reiki®)

Following completion of the Minimum Entrance Requirement, the student is then eligible to apply for admission to the Certification Program in his or her chosen Professional Specialty(ies).

In order for an Application Form to be reviewed, it must be submitted with payment of the 1-time Registration Fee (e.g., check, money order, credit card).  The payment will only be processed if the student is admitted into the Certification Program.  At the present time, the Registration Fees are:

• $150 for 1 Professional Specialty
• $250 for 2 Professional Specialties
• $300 for 3 Professional Specialties

If admitted, then the preceding coursework and corresponding hours will be applied toward the completion of the student’s program requirements.

General Requirements for ALL Certification Programs

General Requirements are to be met by ALL Certification Program students.  A total of 162 hours are required, which fall into 4 categories (see below for detailed descriptions of each category):

1. Practical Coursework (125 hours)
2. Energetic Healing Coursework (19 hours)
3. Foundational Coursework (13 hours)
4. Advanced Practical Coursework (5 hours)

            TOTAL HOURS REQUIRED:  162

In addition to meeting the General Requirements, each student is to select at least 1 Professional Specialty (i.e., Healer, Psychic, Medium) and complete the requirements for that specialty, as described later in this document.  Any hours earned while completing the requirements for a Professional Specialty will be counted toward the total required hours of 162.

NOTE:  All courses can double or triple count toward different Certification Programs (e.g., Business 101 will count toward two or more Professional Specialties).

1.  Practical Coursework (125 hours)

125 hours selected from any of the following classes or workshops:

“Psychic Development, Mediumship, and Channeling” class including Mediumship and Channeling classes (any Thursday evening class) (2.5 hours each)

• “Advanced Practice in the Psychic & Healing Arts” class including Development Circles (any Tuesday evening class) (2.5 hours each)
• Any weekend workshops on specific topics:
  • Connecting with Your Angels and Guides (6 hours)
  • Mediumship:  How to Assist Those Who Are Grieving (6 hours)
  • Psychic Development 101:  The Clairs (6 hours)
  • Tarot 101 (6 hours)
  • Runes 101:  An Ancient Divination Tool with Modern Applications (6 hours)
  • Healing courses that are taken in excess of the 19 required hours for the Energetic Healing Coursework requirement (6 or 7 hours each)
  • Offering services in the student’s Professional Specialty at the “Sampling of Reading & Healing Techniques” class that are in excess of the 5 required hours for the Advanced Practical Coursework requirement (2.5 hours each)
  • Assisting in Reiki I, Reiki II, or Reiki III/ART courses (up to 20 hours maximum may be applied)

NOTE:  Students may enroll simultaneously in the Tuesday and Thursday evening courses.  These courses can be taken repetitively for credit; i.e., each time a class is taken, the hours will count toward the Practical Coursework requirement. 

 NOTE: Instructor’s approval is required for participation in Tuesday class.  Typically, students will be approved if they have previously attended either the Thursday class or at least one weekend workshop class.  However, other qualifications must also be met. 

NOTE:  Occasionally, 1-time workshops and specialized, multi-part courses may be offered through IMPART (e.g., law of attraction, astrology).  Whether or not these hours can be used toward the student’s Practical Coursework requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

2.  Energetic Healing Coursework (3 courses for a minimum of 19 hours)

19 hours selected from the following workshops:

• Reiki I (7 hours)
• Reiki II (6 hours)
• Reiki III/Advanced Reiki Training (7 hours)
• Reiki Master (6 hours)
• Karuna Reiki® I Practitioner (7 hours)
• Karuna Reiki® II Practitioner (6 hours)
• Karuna Reiki® I & II Master (6 hours)

NOTE:  In order for a specific Energetic Healing Coursework requirement to be met, the student must be in attendance for the entire class. 

NOTE:  If hours in excess of the 19 required hours are taken, these hours will count toward the Practical Coursework requirement.

3.  Foundational Coursework (13 hours)

2 workshops are required:

• Business 101:  Learn How to Create & Run Your Own Profitable Business (6 hours)
• Professional Issues:  Ethics, Dealing with Difficult People, & Communication Skills (7 hours)

NOTE:  In order for a specific Foundational Coursework requirement to be met, the student must be in attendance for the entire class.

4.  Advanced Practical Coursework (5 hours)

2 classes are required and each class is 2.5 hours:

• Students are to offer services to the public at 2 “Sampling of Reading and Healing Techniques” classes.  At these events, the student is to offer services in his or her chosen area of Professional Specialty (see below).

NOTE:  If a student has elected to participate in more than one specialty, then the student will need to participate in the “Sampling of Reading and Healing Techniques” class twice for EACH of his or her chosen specialties.  For example, if the student is enrolled in the Professional Psychic and the Professional Healer specialties, then the student must participate in 2 Samplings events as a psychic and 2 Sampling events as a healer. 

NOTE:  Any hours in excess of the 5 required for the Advanced Practical Coursework requirement will be counted toward the Practical Coursework requirement.

 Required Classes for Chosen Professional Specialty(ies)

In addition to meeting the preceding General Requirements, each student is to select at least 1 Professional Specialty and complete the required classes for that specialty, as described below.  At least 1 Professional Specialty must be chosen when applying, but additional specialties may be added at any time.  The Professional Specialties are:

1. Healer Professional Specialty
2. Psychic Professional Specialty
3. Medium Professional Specialty

NOTE:  All of the following classes and workshops will be counted toward the 125 hours of Practical Coursework, unless otherwise specified.

NOTE:  In order for the Professional Specialty requirements to be met, the student must be in attendance for the entire class.

A.  Healer Professional Specialty

The following courses are required by those electing the Healer Professional Specialty.  The hours earned will ALL be applied to the Practical Coursework requirement.

• 8 “Advanced Practice in the Psychic & Healing Arts” classes (specifically the 4^th Tuesday of each month and the student is to offer 1 healing session to those in attendance)

The following requirement is to be met by those electing the Healer Professional Specialty.  The hours earned will be applied to the Energetic Healing Coursework requirement.  If the student has already earned 19 hours toward the Energetic Healing Coursework requirement, then the hours will be counted toward the Practical Coursework requirement.

• 1 Master-level healing course (i.e., Reiki Master or Karuna Reiki® Master)

The following classes are required by those electing the Healer Professional Specialty.  The hours earned will be applied to the Advanced Practical Coursework requirement.

• 2 “Sampling of Reading and Healing Techniques” classes (student must offer healing sessions)

B.  Psychic Professional Specialty

The following courses are required by those electing the Psychic Professional Specialty.  The hours earned will ALL be applied to the Practical Coursework requirement.

• 4 “Psychic Development, Mediumship, & Channeling” classes (specifically the 1^st Thursday of each month when psychic readings are done in class)
• 4 “Advanced Practice in the Psychic & Healing Arts” classes (specifically the 4^th Tuesday of each month and the student is to participate in providing psychic readings to those in attendance)
• 1 Mediumship class
• 1 Channeling class
• 1 Development Circle
• Psychic Development 101:  The Clairs workshop
• Connecting with Your Angels & Guides workshop

The following classes are required by those electing the Psychic Professional Specialty.  The hours earned will be applied to the Advanced Practical Coursework requirement.

• 2 “Sampling of Reading and Healing Techniques” classes (student must offer psychic readings)

C.   Medium Professional Specialty

The following courses are required by those electing the Medium Professional Specialty.  The hours earned will ALL be applied to the Practical Coursework requirement.

• 8 Mediumship classes
• 1 Channeling class
• 1 Development Circle
• Psychic Development 101:  The Clairs
• Connecting with Your Angels & Guides
• Mediumship:  How to Assist Those Who Are Grieving

The following classes are required by those electing the Medium Professional Specialty.  The hours earned will be applied to the Advanced Practical Coursework requirement.

• 2 “Sampling of Reading and Healing Techniques” classes (student must offer mediumship sessions)

NOTE:  For those Professional Specialties that require participation in the Mediumship class, please note that this topic is offered on the 3^rd Thursday of the month during “Psychic Development, Mediumship, and Channeling” class.  If the Professional Specialty requires that the student attend more than one class, these classes do not need to be attended consecutively (i.e., the student can miss a class and then rejoin at any time).  

NOTE:  For those Professional Specialties that require attendance at 1 Channeling class, please note that this class is offered on the 4^th Thursday of each month during the “Psychic Development, Mediumship, and Channeling” class.  The student is not required to try channeling; however, he or she must be in attendance for the entire class in order to receive credit for this requirement.

NOTE:  For those Professional Specialties that require participation in 1 Development Circle, please note that these Circles occur during the “Advanced Practice in the Psychic and Healing Arts” class, which is taught on Tuesday evenings.  Circles require a 4-month commitment (i.e., a total of 4 meetings).  The student must attend all four (4) sessions in order to receive credit for this requirement.

 Review & Final Completion Requirements for ALL Certification Students

Mid-Point Review

After approximately 50% of the coursework/hours have been completed, the student should meet with Anne to review progress in the completion of IMPART Certification Requirements.  The student should bring to the meeting the Worksheet for Certification Requirements.  All courses taken thus far should be listed on the Worksheet by the student before the meeting occurs.

Completion Process

After all coursework/hours have been completed, the student will be contacted by Anne to finalize the certification process.  Topics that will be covered include confirming that all classes have been completed, arranging to have a copy of the student’s Worksheet for Certification Requirements delivered to Anne, and determining if the student would like to be listed on Anne’s website as an IMPART Certified Practitioner).  This process will largely entail online communication (e.g., emails) and occasionally phone contact.  Once all coursework has been verified, then the student will receive his or her official Certificate of Completion from IMPART.  You are then free to state that you are an “IMPART Certified Healer,” “IMPART Certified Psychic,” or “IMPART Certified Medium.”
