This Full Moon on Wednesday, August 1, finds the Sun in Leo in opposition (180°) to the Moon in Aquarius. To further clarify how this Full Moon in Aquarius will impact you on a personal level, locate 11° of Leo and 11° of Aquarius in your birth/natal chart. The issues associated with those two houses are going to be most affected by this Full Moon’s presence.
All Full Moons mark a point of reevaluation . . . what have we accomplished since the last New Moon and where do we go from here. With a Full Moon in Aquarius, we are being asked to do this by finding balance between the Sun in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius. The Sun in Leo is about our personal heart . . . what do we have a passion for and how do we want to creatively express our “self” so we shine in the world. The Moon in Aquarius is about our global head . . . how can we best serve humanity. Although the heart and the head seem diametrically opposed, when blended together under a Full Moon in Aquarius, they can lead to increasing our capacity for creativity and community, for authenticity and diversity, and for courage and altruism.
All New and Full Moons that occur during the next two months are going to be influenced by the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square (90°) (see New Moon in Cancer, Full Moon in Capricorn, & New Moon in Gemini for more information). This aspect is a major indicator of massive global and personal changes. When combined with the impact of recent intense solar activity, which is altering electromagnetic fields and dissolving old ways, it is clear that humanity is in the midst of a major dimensional shift in consciousness. We have reached a major turning point; we are transitioning to the Aquarian Age of equality rather than hierarchy, collaboration rather than competition, and unity rather than polarity. During this important time, it is essential that each person contribute his or her unique gifts by combining our personal agendas with collective goals.
Although Full Moons are often associated with increased emotions and sometimes even turmoil, during the time of this Full Moon, we have several additional astrological events that will lend wonderful support to our efforts:
- Mercury is conjunct (0°) the Sun
- Mercury and the Sun trines (120°) Uranus, which is sextile (60°) the Moon, forming a wedge configuration
- Jupiter in Gemini is trine (120°) the Moon, which is sextile (60°) the Sun, forming another wedge configuration
- Mars in Libra is trine (120°) both Jupiter and the Moon, forming a grand trine configuration (i.e., equilateral triangle)
All of this will provide us with optimism, ingenuity, and sudden shifts in perspective. Although we may find we are inundated with a plethora of ideas, some of these ideas are being given to us by spiritual sources in order to expose alternative truths that could redirect our ambitions. The supportive influence of Mars provides a beneficial dose of energy that reduces friction and facilitates cooperation. This will help us find innovative solutions for sharing power and help in overcoming any philosophical differences. We are all being encouraged to think big, look ahead, express our enthusiasm, and become an agent for creating the future. During this time, watch for life-changing messages and synchronicities from your spiritual guides that either show you where you need to “course correct” or confirm that you’re on the right path.
On Tuesday, August 7, many of us will breathe a sigh of relief as Mercury begins moving direct again. (I know I will be after having to have a new hard drive installed in my computer just yesterday!) Conversations will pick up speed over the next few days, communication and computer snafus will diminish, and creative projects that were bogged down will be reignited. This year, because of its retrograde motion, Mercury will spend almost ten weeks in Leo (June 25 – August 31) rather than the usual three or four weeks. This provides extra training time for us to think with our hearts and act on our intuition. But when it comes to implementing some of those ideas that came to us around the time of the Full Moon (see last paragraph), it may be best to wait until after August 7. This is when we will be better able to digest the massive amount of information that we recently received before we commit to a course of action.
Finally, also on Tuesday, August 7, Venus moves out of Virgo and into Cancer. The focus of Venus in Cancer is finding ways to nurture ourselves and others. Many of us are better at nurturing others and not ourselves, so this is a good time to focus on improving your self-nurturing skills or to learn how to let others nurture us. However, it could also cause some of us to want to turn back the clocks and focus on love and pleasures from the past. It’s helpful for the month to find ways to make connections between past sources of satisfaction and current circumstances. We probably won’t benefit from reproducing the original, but revisiting old sources of joy and pleasure can provide insight into what we need to incorporate into our lives now.
Overall, this Full Moon in Aquarius is further awakening in all of us the desire for unity, collaboration, and cooperation. We are being supported astrologically and spiritually every step of the way. When you think about it, it’s truly amazing that we are alive at this pivotal time on Earth. Given the presence of both Leo and Aquarian energies, it is important to reach out, brainstorm, and collaborate with those who share your vision. And this Full Moon in Aquarius, which occurs in the presence of the powerful Uranus-Pluto square, seems an appropriate time to include the now famous quote below by Marianne Williamson, which means so much to all of us who are Lightworkers. May we all find ways to let our light shine in the world!
OUR GREATEST FEAR
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?”
Actually, who are we not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
REMINDER: New Moons and Full Moons often influence us for the 3 days before and 3 days after the actual event.
