This Full Moon finds the Sun in Cancer in opposition (180°) to the Moon in Capricorn. To further clarify how this Full Moon in Capricorn will impact you on a personal level, locate 23° of Cancer and 23° of Capricorn in your birth/natal chart. The issues associated with those two houses are going to be most affected by this Full Moon’s presence.
Full Moons always require us to find balance between the two signs involved. Cancer and Capricorn each relate to a different aspect of security. Cancer is about finding inner safety and comfort. Capricorn is about striving for security through mastering external challenges. Although we need to stay aware of the Cancerian need for emotional security, it is likely that Capricornian needs will be dominant due to Saturn (Capricorn’s ruling planet) squaring (90°) the Sun-Moon opposition. Patience will definitely be a virtue at this time!
Although we have moved past the recent triple run of eclipses, this Full Moon actually further amplifies the celestial command for quantum leaps in consciousness. The 1st and 2nd eclipses drew attention to our flawed perceptions, and the 3rd eclipse and this Full Moon expose where we need to focus on positive thinking versus being swayed by our feelings and fears.
And for those familiar with the Mayan Calendar, on March 9, we began what is called the Ninth Wave. It is in full swing now. Without going into detail, many of you reading this astrological update will recognize the “accuracy” of what this time usually represents. The amount of change that usually took a year to accomplish can now occur in just a few weeks. Consciousness and creation are quickening, and therefore the time lag between thought and manifestation is becoming shorter. Many are receiving almost instantaneous results, and this feedback is making it easier to see how we are truly the creators of our own reality.
Unfortunately, this fast pace can be difficult emotionally and physically for many of us. Fast or big changes can either be fun or terrifying, depending on whether we have learned the difference between surfing the waves and getting pummeled by them. Because the changes are coming rapidly, you may be asking yourself, “How can I do what I don’t know how to do?” We have to feel our way through the changes and listen to our intuition. Pay attention to synchronicities. Honor your recurring thoughts and dreams, no matter how illogical they may seem. During this huge shift in humanity’s consciousness and the thinning of the veil between our dimension and other dimensions, what appears to be crazy from one level could make perfect sense from a more expanded state of awareness.
It’s very important now to stay centered and to remember that everything we need is inside of us. At the time of this Full Moon, we are being reminded to use our emotions (Cancer) to help us move toward our goals (Capricorn). If you are feeling anxious, worried, or fearful, use that emotion to motivate your movement forward on your path. Focus and concentrate on what you can change.
Back on Saturday, July 10, Uranus began its annual retrograde period. Breakthroughs are likely, but they will come from inner changes rather than external forces/events. You may have some “a-ha” experiences over the next few months (Uranus turns direct on December 10, 2011). You may be drawn to do some deep psychological analysis. One of the phrases most representative of Uranus retrograde is Gandhi’s quote: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Humanity is change, but start with what you can change within yourself and trust that this will be reflected outward.
Venus, which is currently in Cancer, is playing a big role in our lives at the time of this Full Moon. Venus represents the power of the heart and the power of relationships. When in Cancer, we find that our relationships take on a more serious tone and security and safety within our “home and hearth” becomes a major focus. As she moves through the sky, Venus forms a cardinal grand cross with Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto. Venus exactly squared (90°) Uranus on Thursday, July 7, opposed (180°) Pluto on Friday, July 8, and squares (90°) Saturn on Wednesday, July 13. The Venus opposition (180°) to Pluto on Friday, July 8, could mean that we need to let go in order to grow. The Venus square (90°) to Saturn on Wednesday, July 13, may bring to the surface self-doubts in relationships. But this aspect also can help us recognize precisely what we’re missing in our connections with others. During this time period, many of us will see our partnerships (of all kinds) changing so they become more egalitarian and more aligned with the intentions of all involved.
Overall, this Full Moon emphasizes the need for both cooperative efforts and individual courage. We live in extraordinary times . . . times that are calling on us to use exceptional courage and compassion. If you are feeling overwhelmed or exhausted, spend time in nature; e.g., by water, in the woods, wherever you feel centered, nurtured, and inspired. And remember to ask for support and guidance from Spirit/God/Source. The faster the pace of our lives, the more important it becomes to slow down and tune in. “Life’s not about waiting for the storms to pass . . . it’s about learning to dance in the rain” (Vivian Greene).
